FORGIVENESS MADE EASY- PART 1

FORGIVENESS MADE EASY. Scripture : Luke 23:34. Topic : Forgiveness Made Easy Part- 1.  In this series of our quite time we shall study the steps we need to take for forgiveness to be very easy for us. Remember one mark of a true believer is seen in his or her ability to forgive, just as our Lord Jesus forgives us. To attract God's forgiveness you will need to learn to forgive those around you.   Why is it so difficult for people to forgive? Often, hurting people find it difficult to forgive because they cannot believe that the offender was the same person they trusted so much. This could explain the unwillingness of some spouses to forgive when their husbands or wives cheat on them.  Sometimes the emotional pain one goes through is almost unbearable, and as human beings it is not easy to forget. Though we may find it difficult to forgive, what God is saying to us is that it is very important to forgive no matter how traumatic the pain may be. I want to share with you...

THE SPIRIT OF GREED.

THE SPIRIT OF GREED. Scripture: Ecclesiastes 5:10. Topic: The Spirit of Greed.  "He that loveth silver shall not be satisfied with silver..." Ecclesiastes 5:10 This is the attitude of a greedy person. He is never satisfied with what he has.  He is never satisfied with the opportunities and real situations that lie before him. He is always looking for something else, something special!  A greedy person will often stretch out his hands to take something that does not belong to him. Look at what happened to Gehazi, the servant of Elisha the prophet. His master refused to receive money from a healed captain of the host of the King of Syria. However, out of greed, Gehazi went ahead, lied to him and took the money for himself. By this, Gehazi had disgraced Elisha’s ministry forever. Elisha cursed him and his seed forever, so Gehazi ended up with leprosy. "The leprosy therefore of Naaman shall cleave unto thee, and unto thy seed for ever. And he went out from his presence a lep...

THE SPIRIT OF EVIL INDEPENDENCE.

THE SPIRIT OF EVIL INDEPENDENCE.  Scripture : Ecclesiastes 4:13 Topic: The Spirit of Evil Independence.  Being connected to someone can be your only opportunity to make it in life and ministry. Your breakthrough may be connected to someone’s vision. However, many people do not understand this and they only think of how to become independent. I believe in independence. But not every kind of independence is good. Some independence is acquired in the wrong way and with the wrong motive. Independence becomes evil when it has the following characteristics: 1. Acquired at the wrong time. 2. Acquired in the wrong way. 3. Acquired out of hurt, bitterness and hatred. 4. Acquired out of rebellion against authority. 5. Acquired with the wrong motive. Paul was independent. He said he consulted no one. Read his words: "For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it...I conferred not with flesh and blood..." Galatians 1:12, 16 Paul is telling us here that as far as his ministry ...

THE SPIRIT OF A WILD GOOSE CHASE.

THE SPIRIT OF A WILD GOOSE CHASE. Scripture: John 4:13-14 Topic: The Spirit of a Wild Goose Chase. A goose is a web-footed bird, larger than a duck and smaller than a swan. Geese are difficult to catch. (The next time you see a goose, try catching it!)  To go on a wild goose chase, is to run after elusive things.  People are searching and looking for something to satisfy them. Anyone who drinks of the pleasures of this world will never be satisfied! Jesus said:  "...Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again; But whosoever drinketh of the water that l shall give him shall never thirst again." John 4:13, 14  What are you searching for? Students think that if only they can pass their exams, they will be all right. They can then have good jobs with fat salaries. Those who are not married are thinking of how to get a fiancée or “beloved” and how to prepare for their wedding. Those who are working are also burdened with getting more money, buying a car, building ...

DEATH AND LIFE

DEATH AND LIFE  Scripture: Proverbs 28:21 Topic: Death and Life Death and life are in the  power of the tongue… Proverbs 18:21 When we talk about death we are  thinking of funerals, mortuaries, buying of coffins and death certificates. We imagine standing by graves weeping and sobbing our hearts out. But the tongue apparently controls this terrible thing  called death. Can you believe that? Well, the law of gravity works,  whether you believe in it or not. Our personal beliefs do not affect these laws at all.  You can speak either “death” or “life”  into your life. You can also speak death into your marriage, or speak life into it. If your marriage is dying, decide to speak life into it.  Say positive things about your husband. Think about all his good sides, and find something positive to say. You are speaking life into your marriage. There are some ministers who speak death into their ministries and churches. They are always complaining about on...

INFLEXIBILITY - A MANIFESTATION OF DISLOYALTY

INFLEXIBILITY - A MANIFESTATION OF DISLOYALTY  Scripture: 1 Samuel 15:13-14 Topic: Inflexibility - A Manifestation of disloyalty To manifest means “to demonstrate, to display, exhibit or to show forth” something. People show disloyalty in many ways.  Why do we need to look at the manifestations of disloyalty? Because loyalty and disloyalty are things of the heart and things of the heart cannot easily be seen. Like many diseases, it is best detected by watching out for symptoms.  Inflexibility "And Samuel came to Saul: and said Saul unto him, Blessed be thou of the Lord: I HAVE PERFORMED the commandment of the Lord. And Samuel said, WHAT MEANETH THEN THIS BLEATING of the sheep in mine ears…? 1 Samuel 15:13,14 Inflexibility is a manifestation of disloyalty. An inflexible person is stubborn and defiant.  Watch out for inflexible people in your set-up. Such people do not want to work overtime. They do not want to go beyond what is stipulated in their contract. They are n...

SCORNING - A MANIFESTATION OF DISLOYALTY

SCORNING - A MANIFESTATION OF DISLOYALTY  Scripture: Psalm 1:1 Topic: Scorning - A Manifestation of disloyalty To manifest means “to demonstrate, to display, exhibit or to show forth” something. People show disloyalty in many ways.  Why do we need to look at the manifestations of disloyalty? Because loyalty and disloyalty are things of the heart and things of the heart cannot easily be seen. Like many diseases, it is best detected by watching out for symptoms.  Scorning "Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the SEAT OF THE SCORNFUL." Psalm 1:1 Scorners are people who mock at you. They do not believe in you or in what you are doing. The Bible very clearly tells us that we must not associate with scoffers. According to Psalm 1:1, we are not even supposed to sit in the same chair with the scornful. How can somebody who does not believe in you be your assistant pastor? How can someone who despise...

DISOBEDIENCE - A MANIFESTATION OF DISLOYALTY

DISOBEDIENCE - A MANIFESTATION OF DISLOYALTY  Scripture: 1 Samuel 15:22-23 Topic: Disobedience - A Manifestation of disloyalty To manifest means “to demonstrate, to display, exhibit or to show forth” something. People show disloyalty in many ways.  Why do we need to look at the manifestations of disloyalty? Because loyalty and disloyalty are things of the heart and things of the heart cannot easily be seen. Like many diseases, it is best detected by watching out for symptoms.  Disobedience "And Samuel said, Hath the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the Lord, he hath also rejected thee from being king." 1 Samuel 15:22-23 The first important manifestation of disloyalty is disobedience. Disobedience is an o...

THE SECRET OF THE PREVAILING LION

THE SECRET OF THE PREVAILING LION Scripture: Revelation 5:5-7 Topic: The Secret of the Prevailing Lion "And one of the elders saith unto me, weep not: behold, THE LION OF THE TRIBE OF JUDA, THE ROOT OF DAVID, HATH PREVAILED to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof. And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth. And he came and took the book out of the right hand of him that sat upon the throne." Revelation 5:5-7 The secret of the Lion of Judah is the secret of prevailing! To prevail is the ability to do two things: the ability “to be victorious” and the ability “to maintain your cause”. A prevailing lion is a fighting lion. A prevailing lion is a fighting lion. A prevailing lion is a lion that does not go back or change its direction. To become a prevailing lion, you mus...

THE SWEET INFLUENCES OF THE HOLY SPIRIT ON YOUR MINISTRY STYLE

Scripture: Luke 1: 17 Topic: The sweet influences of the Holy Spirit on your ministry style In this series of our Quiet Time, we shall study the influences of the anointing, which is the Holy Spirit, in the life of a Christian. The Holy Spirit can influence and transform all areas of a believer’s life and is vital for the survival of the believer on this earth “   He will also go before Him in the spirit and power of Elijah,  ‘to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children,’  and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.” Luke 1: 17(NKJV) This is a prophecy given to Zechariah, the father of John the Baptist, about his son. In this prophecy, it was clear that he was to have a son who would walk under the same influence of the spirit that Elijah did. The prophecy was direct! The little boy would be influenced by the same spirit and the same power that influenced Elijah. After John the Baptist began the ministry, ma...
