BECOME SELF- MOTIVATED. DO NOT EXPECT DIRECTION OR ENCOURAGEMENT FROM OUTSIDE.
Scripture: Mark 8:15-21
Topic: Seven steps to encouraging yourself.
In this series we will be looking at how you need to become self- motivated and not to expect direction or encouragement from outside which is an art of leadership. Everyone looks up to a leader for encouragement, but who encourages a leader? A true leader is someone who knows how to encourage himself whenever it is necessary. A true leader does not look to the outside for motivation, does not depend on external factors to encourage himself/herself but motivates himself /herself.
Lets take a look at the seven steps to encouraging yourself.
3. Remember other problems that God has delivered you from.
Jesus had fed five thousand people on one occasion and had fed four thousand on another occasion. Jesus expected His disciples to remember the things He had done for them in the past. Remembering this things would encourage them greatly. Jesu was angry with the disciples for not remembering the past miracles.
And He charged them saying, take heed, be ware of the leaven of the Pharisees, and of the leaven of Herod.
And they reasoned among themselves saying, it is because we have no bread.
And when Jesus knew it, he saith unto them, why reason ye because ye have no bread? perceive ye not yet, neither understand? have ye your heart yet hardened?
Having eyes, see ye not? and having ears , hear ye not? and do ye not remember? When I brake the five loaves among five thousand, how many baskets full of fragments took ye up? They say unto him, twelve.
And when the seven among four thousand, how many baskets full of fragments took ye up? and they said, seven. And He said unto them, how is it that ye do not understand.
