 MASTERS OF OPERATING BY THE SENSES 

Scripture: Hebrews 5:14
Topic: Serpents are wise because they operate by their senses.

In this series we will look at mastering operating by the senses and how to begin operating by the senses.

....those who have their sense exercised to discern both good and evil.

Hebrews 5:14

Snakes live and move on the ground without the privilege of standing up to see what is happening around them. Yet without the privilege of seeing what we see and hearing what we hear, and communicating like we do, they are able to live, eat, drink and avoid danger. Rather than hearing sounds as we do, snakes pick up vibrations from the skin around their jaws. The eyes of a snake have special sound detectors,  that detect movement.
All these show a creature that is sensitive, perceiving all sorts of sensations and taking decisions based on them.  We can learn a lot from this wisdom of the snake and begin to use our senses like God expects us to. Perhaps we would live longer and achieve more if we were more perspicacious and sensitive.
