THE LIMITATIONS OF AN INDIVIDUAL'S CALL -PART 1

Scripture: Ephesians 4: 7
Topic: We have only a "measure" of a call.

Human beings long to create super-human characters who never make mistakes, never fail and never die. It is this inward desire in all men that has created characters like James Bond, Rambo, Superman, Demolition man, Batman and Spiderman etc.. But the fact that you are "called" will not turn you into any of these super-huma characters. Your calling is simply God showing mercy and leniency to you. Apart from this, your calling is limited. You have received only a measure of the Spirit.

But unto everyone of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.

Ephesians 4:7

Your calling gives you only a measure of the Spirit and there are several other measures that you did not receive. This means that there are several other gifts that you lack. Your lack of other graces will always limit you in the ministry. Your lack of other gifts will prevent you from being successful in certain fields. God has reserved those fields of ministry for others. 

When you realize that you just have a measure of the Spirit, It humbles you in spite of how greatly and gifted you are. 

For I  say, through the grace that is given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God has dealt TO EVERY MAN THE MEASURE OF FAITH.
