THE FIRST DETERMINANT: SPEED - PART 5
THE FIRST DETERMINANT: SPEED - PART 5
Scriptures: Ecclesiastes 9:11, Genesis 27:1-4, 19-20
Topic: Speed Determines If You Will Be Blessed
"I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all."
Ecclesiastes 9:11
The determinants are the characteristics and the virtues that determine the outcome of everything you do. Every area of life is therefore affected by determinants. Both spiritual and non-spiritual things are governed by determinants. In this series of our Quiet Time we will study in depth how speed governs our lives
5. SPEED DETERMINES IF YOU WILL BE BLESSED.
"And it came to pass, that when Isaac was old, and his eyes were dim, so that he could not see, he called Esau his eldest son, and said unto him, My son: and he said unto him, Behold, here am I. And he said, Behold now, I am old, I know not the day of my death: Now therefore take, I pray thee, thy weapons, thy quiver and thy bow, and go out to the field, and take me some venison; And make me savoury meat, such as I love, and bring it to me, that I may eat; that my soul may bless thee before I die."
Genesis 27:1-4
"And Jacob said unto his father, I am Esau thy firstborn; I have done according as thou badest me: arise, I pray thee, sit and eat of my venison, that thy soul may bless me. And Isaac said unto his son, HOW IS IT THAT THOU HAST FOUND IT SO QUICKLY, my son? And he said, Because the Lord thy God brought it to me."
Genesis 27:19-20
Isaac asked for some food and it was Esau’s duty to provide this food. However, it was his brother Jacob who was quick to provide the food. The speed at providing the food is what got Jacob his blessing. The speed was made possible by the help of his mother. Speed is often a reflection of how much help you have. Speed is what gave Jacob the blessing. The blessings we see on the nation Israel today are because of the speed of Jacob.
Perhaps your whole life will change if you can introduce some speed into what you do. Perhaps, some blessings will come to you if you would be faster at what you do. Be faster at taking decisions! Be faster at obeying God! Be faster at learning your songs! Be faster at waiting on God!
