THE SWEET INFLUENCES OF THE HOLY SPIRIT ON YOUR ABILITY TO BE HOLY
Scripture: Ephesians 2:2-3
Topic: The Sweet Influences of the Holy Spirit on your the
ability to be holy
In this series of our Quiet
Time, we shall study the influences of the anointing, which is the Holy Spirit,
in the life of a Christian. The Holy Spirit can influence and transform all
areas of a believer’s life and is vital for the survival of the believer on
this earth
“ In which you once walked according to the course of this world,
according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works
in the sons of disobedience, among whom also we all once conducted
ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh
and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.”
Ephesians
2: 2-3 (NKJV)
Without the help of the Holy Spirit you will live out your
life every other person without boundaries and limits. You will yield yourself
to the flesh and fulfill the lusts of your mind. Human beings who are not
supernaturally restrained by the Holy Spirit are lazy, wicked, thieves,
fornicators, witches, drunkards, murderers and rapists.
It takes great supernatural power to turn away from the
course of this world. In our world today, it is unusual to be chaste or holy.
It normal to be a person with multiple sexual partners. You cannot blame people
who have no supernatural power helping them. Most of the sins of the flesh are
outbursts of naturalness and humanness. These outbursts of human behavior have
created the evil world in which we live. Through the depravities, selfishness
and greed of mankind, a hard and wicked society called the world has been
created. Paul said, we once walked according to the course of this world and
fulfilled the desires of our flesh and mind, just like everybody else.
“In which you once walked according to the course of this world,
according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works
in the sons of disobedience, among whom also we all once conducted
ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh
and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.”
Ephesians
2: 2-3 (NKJV)
When you are not under the sweet influences of the Holy
Spirit you will be subject to devilish influences which will make you practice
all sins of the flesh. That is why you must open yourself up to be influenced
by the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit’s influence will cause you to be holy,
special, and different.
I am not trying to give you steps on how to be holy. I am
informing you about what happens to you when you are under the influence of the
Holy Spirit. Are you holy? Are you pure? Are you clean? Are you straight? (Do
you have skeletons in your cupboard?) Are you real? Are you sanctified? If you
are any of these things then it is by the power and influence of the Holy
Spirit. Pray for the Holy Spirit. Ask God for the Holy Spirit to come and help
you to be holy, sanctified, and pure. You can never be pure with your own strength.
You cannot be a virgin unless the Holy Spirit helps you.
Do you want to stop living the life of fleshly fulfillment?
You need the Holy Spirit to help you become pure. Pray for the Holy Spirit! Ask
for the Holy Spirit! He will help you! You cannot make it on your own. You will
never be successful at being holy, no matter how long you have become a
Christian. If the Holy Spirit leave you for one day you will become a normal
man to your surprise. Don’t trust in yourself or you will disgrace yourself.
The scripture confirms these amazing truths.
· The
Holy Spirit enables you to resist the lusts of you flesh: The sweet influence of
the Holy Spirit puts you under a supernatural power that enables you to not
fulfill, obey or yield to the desires of your flesh. Without the influence of the
Holy Spirit, you will be consumed by the raging desires that are common to all
men
“Walk
in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh
lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are
contrary to one another so that you do not do the things that you wish.”
Galatians
5: 16-17
· The Holy Spirit has a sanctifying
influence: The influence of the Holy Spirit tends towards
sanctification, purity and holiness. Expect to live a life of greater purity,
sanctification and holiness when under the sweet influence of the Holy Spirit.
“…According to the foreknowledge of God the
Father, in sanctification of the Spirit, for obedience and sprinkling of the
blood of Jesus Christ: Grace to you and peace be multiplied.”
