TELL THEM: 120 REASONS WHY YOU MUST BE A SOUL WINNER (PART 5)
Scripture: Matthew 9: 36-37
Topic: Tell them: 120 reasons why you must be a Soul Winner
(Part5)
In this series of our Quiet
Time, we study several reasons why believers ought to be ardent soul winners.
It is time that as believers we obey the commandments of Our Lord and Saviour
Jesus Christ and hasten our steps towards the salvation of the lost and the
dying in the world.
1. 5. You must be
a soul winner because shepherds and pastors are supposed to notice the lost
souls around them.
“ But when he saw the
multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and
were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. Then saith he unto his
disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few;”
Matthew
9: 36-37
I realize that many Christians, and even pastors, do not
notice the harvest of souls around them. I see the multitude of people all
around and wonder if these people know Christ!
Sometimes when driving to church, I see crowds of people
streaming down the road. I often as myself, “how many of these people know
Christ as their Saviour? How many will really die in Christ? How many of them
go to church on Sunday morning?”
Recently, my wife and I drove through the streets of
Johannesburg (in South Africa), which is a very beautiful city. We saw many
nice buildings. At one point during the ride, we had a good view of the entire
city beautifully lit with thousands of lights.
As I looked down, I suddenly thought to myself that there
are so many people in the world. South Africa is full of souls. I did not see
the nice buildings, but I saw the vastness of the harvest, which lay virtually
untouched.
Dear Friend, there are millions of people around you. I don’t
know if you notice that there are so many precious souls who just have a short
time to live before tasting eternity. How many people will die in Christ? How
many will live again?
Every believer’s burden must be for souls. The burden for
souls is not just for evangelists! The Lord Jesus testified Himself:
“ I am the good shepherd
[pastor]
John
10:11
A good shepherd means a good pastor. Jesus was the best
pastor that ever lived and yet He said:
“
For the Son of man is come to SEEK and to SAVE THAT WHICH WAS LOST”.
Luke
19:10
