TELL THEM: 120 REASONS WHY YOU MUST BE A SOUL WINNER (PART 6)
Scripture: Luke 8: 6
Topic: Tell them: 120 reasons why you must be a Soul Winner (Part 6)
In this series of our Quiet
Time, we study several reasons why believers ought to be ardent soul winners.
It is time that as believers we obey the commandments of Our Lord and Saviour
Jesus Christ and hasten our steps towards the salvation of the lost and the
dying in the world.
1. 6. You must be
a soul winner to avoid the mistake of sowing seed on a hard stony floor.
“ And some fell upon a rock; and as soon as it
was sprung up, it withered away, because it lacked moisture”.
Luke
8:6
Stay with the ripened harvest.
Go where the doors are open. That is why I
love preaching to young people. Every year I hold a special program in each university
in Ghana. I enjoy preaching in secondary schools. I see such a positive
response from young people. The young people are my ripened harvest.
I remember speaking with an eighty-year-old man at a
wedding reception. During the wedding service, I had preached a sermon on salvation.
This man was in the congregation and had heard all that I had said.
He called me aside at the wedding reception and said to me,
“ I want you to know something.”
“what is it sir?” I asked
He answered, “ I want you to know that I will never change!”
“Oh!” I responded
He continued, “I am eighty years old and I will never
change! I want you to know that I will never be born again! I am a traditionalist,
I belong to the Anglican Church and I will never be born again!”
I was taken aback! I had never heard anybody speak like
that. This was saying that he was hardened and resistant to the Gospel. There
are many people like that. Preaching to them yields very little result.
Stay with the ripened and whitened harvests. God will bless
your evangelistic efforts. The poor are often more open to receiving the Gospel
than the rich. Therefore, preach more to the poor than the rich.
When you spend time in unripened harvests, you will become discouraged with evangelism. You will find it fruitless and a waste of time.
Stay with the ripened harvests. God has given them to you! Win the lost at any
cost!!
