Scripture: Isaiah 44: 21-22
Topic: It is a great thing to serve the Lord
(Part 6)
In this series of our Quiet Time, we study the
reasons why serving God is a great thing. God has special privileges for those
who are enlisted in His work and do His bidding on earth. As we go out and win
souls, these privileges are due to us in Jesus name.
“Remember these, O Jacob and Israel; for thou
art my servant: I have formed thee; thou art my servant: O Israel, thou shalt
not be forgotten of me. I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy
transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins: return unto me; for I have redeemed
thee”.
Isaiah 44: 21-22
1.
It is a great thing to serve the Lord because your
sins are blotted out.
You and I are so sinful. We commit so many
mistakes and there is no good reason for God to use any of us. It is necessary
that your sins be blotted out. Indeed, your sins are blotted out just because you
have become a servant of God.
Years ago, I discovered that one of my father’s
employees was a thief. Then I discovered that my father already knew that he
was a thief. Initially, I was puzzled and wondered why my father would not get
rid of this pilferer. I realized that my father had ignored (blotted out) his
servant’s sins. He simply took no notice of all the stealing that was going on.
He seemed to value this servant so much that he never sacked him.
It is amazing
how many transgressions and sins of a servant will be blotted out by a master.
