Scripture: Deuteronomy 28: 47- 48
Topic: It is a great thing to serve the Lord
(Part 5)
In this series of our Quiet Time, we study the
reasons why serving God is a great thing. God has special privileges for those
who are enlisted in His work and do His bidding on earth. As we go out and win
souls, these privileges are due to us in Jesus name.
“Because thou servedst
not the Lord thy God with joyfulness, and with gladness of heart, for
the abundance of all things; Therefore shalt thou serve thine enemies which
the Lord shall send against thee, in hunger, and in thirst, and in
nakedness, and in want of all things: and he shall put a yoke of iron upon thy
neck, until he have destroyed thee.”
Deuteronomy 28: 47-48
1. 5. It is a great thing to serve the Lord because if
you do not serve the Lord you will be handed over to serve your enemies.
God wants to enjoy you. God wants to be happy
with you and wants to enjoy serving Him. If you do not enjoy God, He will hand
you over to serve the alternative. If you do not want to serve God, the other option
is to serve His enemy.
Many people who have rejected Christianity are
being forced to accept an alternative religion with all its implications. God’s
punishment for His people who do not want to serve Him is to serve the enemy in
hunger, in thirst and in the want of all things.
There are people who should be in the ministry,
serving God all their lives. Today, many such people are working for the enemy
day and night, building financial kingdoms for unbelievers. They get peanuts
for all their hard work and basically advance the agenda of demonized men.
Satan rejects as God’s best treasures are locked down in Pharaoh’s pyramids,
building monuments to the glory of the enemy. You must remember that the wealth
of the world lies in the hands of a few powerful people who mostly hate God.
