“Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.”
                                                                                                                                              Revelation 1:7-8

The churches must be told that Christ is coming: Believers must be constantly informed that Jesus is coming soon.There are people who believe the Book of Revelation is strictly historical. Some believe it is possible to get many lessons from it that are applicable for us today. Others believe the book is prophetical. Although historical things are within the context of the book and that we can get many lessons applicable for us today, the foremost purpose of Revelation is prophetical.


Every Christian must view the scripture of Revelation 1:7 as a prophetic announcement of the return of the Son of God. The coming of Christ is future. The Parousia of our soon and coming King is the supreme hope of the church. His first advent was slow and progressive. He was conceived within the womb of Mary and spent nine months there. He was born just like any other baby. He grew up, and some years passed before He declared Himself as the Messiah. Contrary to what people believe, His second coming is going to be instantaneous—“Behold, he cometh.” He will come as a thief in the night. He will come eminently and instantly. Hence, there is a huge difference between His two advents. 

“Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.”

He who has come will come. Few believe the Biblical view of the second coming, and still fewer live like they believe it. This morning as you are reading this, the question is, are you living as one who is expecting the imminent return of Your Saviour? We must become very vocal about this message, the message of His soon coming!
“If any man love not the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be Anathema Maranatha.”

    Lord thank You for saving me. I believe You died, rose from the dead on the third day and that You ascended into heaven.will come again from the clouds for Your church. Teach me to number my days that I may live my life with wisdom expecting your return at any time.

    The foremost purpose of the book of Revelation is prophetical. It tells us of things to come which are definite. The second coming of Jesus is prophesied, but we don't know the day nor time because He will come like a thief.
