THE SECRET
THE SECRET THINGS
Scripture: Deuteronomy 29:29
Topic: The Secret Things
“The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.”
Deuteronomy 29:29
There are two hemispheres of spiritual things. One is secret, and the second is revealed:
“The secret things belong unto the Lord our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law”
Deuteronomy 29:29
God has revealed all He wants us to be aware of, but what we are capable of knowing is but an infinitesimal portion of God’s infinite wisdom. Man has always quarreled with God about secret things because he associates secrecy with selfishness. But nature itself proves that within the Divine administration, secrecy and benevolence coexist. God has not revealed the mystery of germination, but He gives the revelation of the harvests.
We must not be blinded by the mystery and forget God’s generous blessings. You will discover in the scriptures that God never introduces a conditional covenant without first making Himself known in grace making His commandments attractive to His own. Everything unknown to believers must not be classified as “secret.” This is able to destroy the Biblical teaching of growth in knowledge.
“But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.”
2 Peter 3:18
The true Believer knows that there are things revealed, and there are things concealed.
As a believer, I will loose my way if I seek to understand how He gets it done instead of being grateful that it's done!
ReplyDeleteAmen,I must not try to figure God out and dig in into His secrets, what He wants known He reveals to us, I must accept that there are things revealed and things that are concealed
ReplyDeleteMay I seek Grace to know God better everyday
ReplyDeleteMay God help me not to try digging into the concealed things but rather appreciate what has been revealed to me by God in Jesus name
ReplyDeleteGenesis 3:22-24
ReplyDeleteGod had another secret and that was the secret of the tree of the fruit of life. If man had eaten this fruit he would have lived in his sin forever and this would be disastrous for not only God but for man. Sin would prevail and it would continue up to eternity or in all eternity but God had to keep the secret of the tree of life to protect man and the human race at large.
Think about it ,had God not allowed the fall then we would not have known our true state as men and our sinfulness which would expose our need for a saviour. We would never have experienced the Christos who came to die for us ,we would never have experienced the awesome Holy Spirit who prepares us for glory. This one secret that God kept from us has instead of destroying us has saved us.
May i seek to know God more and more..So that the secrets can be revealed un to me only those concern me.Father Lord grnag me wisdom to understand the revealed secrets that u revealun to us in Jesus mighty name
ReplyDeleteGod is not selfish. He reveals unto us what we need to know. May I increase in revelation and knowledge of God as I daily feed on His word. There's so much already revealed in His word and creation that's beneficial to me that I'm yet to gain knowledge of. I'll focus on the revealed things and not pry into the secret things.
ReplyDeleteThe idea that secrecy is synonymous with selfishness lies at the root of man's ongoing battle with God over hidden matters. There are things that are hidden from us and there are things revealed to us, to the intention that, that which is revealed is to be obeyed. The Bible is unequivocal on the subject; Scripture instructs and encourages believers to diligently search out what God has revealed. God has revealed everything He wants us to know, through the knowledge of him that has called us to glory and virtue. The true Believer must therefore understand that there are things revealed, and there are things concealed. Wow!!!
ReplyDeleteMay I never be blinded by the mystery and forget God’s generous blessings to me.
