NEEDING NO SUPERVISION

NEEDING NO SUPERVISION

Scripture: Proverbs 6:6-7
Topic: Needing no supervision

“Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise:
Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler,”
                                                                                                                                                  Proverbs 6:6-7

The year is new, pretty much so. Who will you need to stand oversight over you all year for you to do the things expected of you? Of all of God’s creatures the ant is of the smallest of sizes yet the wiser, the more organised of all. The Preacher admonishes us to learn wisdom from the ant. This makes the ant a creature of wisdom.

In the colony of ants, no one is in charge. There is no plan drawn, no leader yet by being simply self-organising, and co-operating with each other the ant is able to achieve amazing things. It was discovered that the world’s biggest ant colony stretched over 3,700 miles. A look into an ant colony and one will marvel at the sophistication of their structures. Besides the high ant colony which in comparison to the ants themselves dwarfs them, to bridges that they use for their expeditions to water rafts that aids in their escape of floods. We are talking about a group of organisms that behave as one organism.

The church is filled with workers who must be supervised constantly as babies. A leader only has to turn a way for a minute for disorganisation, indolence and neglect of duty to set in. Without the presence of a leader, real characters of pretentious church workers, and members are suddenly revealed. Words are thrown at each other coupled with vicious ungodly Christian exchanges. The moment the leader steps back everyone begins to behave as though they have been good all along. If you need supervision all the time to behave yourself, to work as you should, I am sorry to announce to you that you are still a baby, and the ant possesses more wisdom. By your own volition can you work all night to get a task completed without being thus instructed? Do you rise up early to get tasks accomplished? The way to being promoted from a common gateman to a manager is the ability to work without supervision, and still get things accomplished!

  16. What I can say
Is that it needs a person with a spiritual mind to do such work knowing that he or she is doing it for God (employer)
And the person should expect much more blessing in the work of the church
It only needs us to change the perspective of how we view the issue of serving the church
    And all will be alright
Though am blessed by the word
    I love it,

May God grant me wisdom of the ant and surround me with ant-like helpers.

  22. Wooooow πŸ’₯πŸ’₯πŸ’₯ can I work without supervision? Can I still do my duties on time if a leader isn't around. Selah!
The ability to carry out your duties for a long time without quitting or being sluggish is a sign you've grown from a baby stage.

  25. This lesson is very very useful..vital.. important and crucial.
To work without supervision can only happen if the person does his/her works from the heart and is what they love to do and desire to be doing. No one loves their work and wait to be told to get to work.
Those who don't love their work always wait to be supervised, forced, threatened, begged, monitored.
